…and how to avoid it!
No one plans a wedding thinking, “I hope I regret something.”
You plan carefully. You save inspiration photos. You make spreadsheets. You taste cakes. You curate every detail.
And yet…after photographing hundreds of weddings, we’ve heard a few common refrains from brides once the confetti settles and the honeymoon glow fades.
The good news? Most wedding-day regrets are completely avoidable – with a little perspective and thoughtful planning.
If you’re currently planning your wedding in Michigan (or anywhere your love story takes you), here are a few things brides often wish they had done differently, and how you can make sure you don’t.
One of the most common things we hear?
“I wish we hadn’t rushed.”
Whether it’s getting ready in the morning or squeezing portraits into a 10-minute window, a tight timeline can create unnecessary stress.
How to avoid it:
Build in buffer time. Add 10–15 minutes to key transitions. Talk with your photographer about how long portraits realistically take. A relaxed timeline = better photos and a calmer you.
